Preparing Your Sold Items for Drop Off

Your items sold—woohoo! πŸŽ‰ Now it is time to get everything ready for Drop Off.

A little organization at home makes Drop Off faster and helps make sure every item gets to the correct buyer.

What You Will Learn

  • How to find your sold items

  • What to do if something is missing or incorrect

  • Your Sold Item Tag options

  • How to properly bag and tag items

  • How to organize everything for Drop Off

Step 1: Find Your Sold Items

As sales are processed, your sold items will appear under the SOLD ITEMS tab in your Seller Portal.

Use your Sold Items list to begin pulling everything that sold. If you entered Bin Codes, use them to quickly locate your items.

Before bagging and tagging, make sure you have the exact item the buyer purchased.

Found a Problem?

It happens! You may discover:

  • You can’t find an item

  • The size or description is incorrect

  • You notice a flaw

  • A piece from a set is missing

  • Something else doesn’t match the listing

No need to email GCOS or contact the buyer.

Set the item aside and keep its Sold Item Tag with it. If the item is missing, keep the Sold Item Tag so you can bring it with you to Drop Off.

We have a process for handling missing items, listing discrepancies and Buyer Review items.

Never substitute another item for the one that sold.

Step 2: Print Your Sold Item Tags

Every sold item needs a Sold Item Tag. You have two options:

Option 1: Print During the Sale

As sales are updated, Sold Item Tags become available under SOLD ITEMS in your Seller Portal.

Print these on regular 8½" × 11" paper, cut them apart and attach each tag to the correct item.

These tags are updated as additional sales are added to your Seller Portal and are not formatted for 2" × 4" mailing labels.

If you like to prep your sold items as you go, this option lets you get a head start.

Option 2: Wait for 2" × 4" Mailing Labels

After the sale closes, a separate PDF formatted for 2" × 4" mailing labels will be added to your Seller Portal.

Print directly onto mailing labels, peel and attach.

You only need one version. Use the paper tags if you want to prep as you go, or wait for the mailing labels if you prefer peel-and-stick.

πŸ’‘ GCOS Pro Tip

Waiting for mailing labels doesn’t mean you have to wait to get started!

Pull and set aside your sold items throughout the sale. When the final 2" × 4" mailing labels are ready, you’ll already have everything gathered and ready to tag and bag.

Step 3: Match Tags to Items

Before you start bagging, match each Sold Item Tag to the correct item.

Double-check the item description, size and other identifying information.

Each tag also includes the Buyer Code, which tells us which buyer order receives the item.

Step 4: Bag & Tag Your Items

All clothing and small items should be individually bagged with the correct Sold Item Tag attached.

One sold item = one bag.

Even if the same buyer purchased several of your items, do not combine separately purchased items into one bag.

If multiple pieces were sold together as one listing or set, keep those pieces together as one sold item.

Larger Items

For items that do not fit in a bag, securely attach the Sold Item Tag so it stays with the item.

Books, Games, Boxes & New in Box Items

Do not place adhesive labels directly on surfaces that could be damaged when the label is removed.

Attach the tag securely without damaging the item or its packaging.

Fragile Items

Protect breakable items appropriately and clearly mark them FRAGILE.

Step 5: Check Your Needs Attention Items

Before packing up, gather anything you set aside and make sure each item or missing item has its Sold Item Tag with it.

Bring these to the Drop Off Manager when you arrive. We will handle missing items, listing discrepancies and anything that may need Buyer Review.

No advance email is necessary. We will take care of it at Drop Off.

Step 6: Organize for Drop Off

Standard Drop Off at Canlan

Sort your items by Buyer Code before you arrive.

Buyer orders are organized alphabetically by Buyer Code, and you’ll place your own sold items into the appropriate buyer orders.

Sorting at home can save you quite a bit of time at Drop-Off.

Drop & Roll or Remote Drop-Off

Items should arrive completely bagged, tagged and ready for processing.

Scan at Home must be completed before arriving for Drop & Roll at Canlan or Remote Drop Off in Roselle.

Separate Scan at Home instructions will walk you through that process.
